I feel that every student has a voice, opinion, and a need to express these. I try to focus on the diversity of thought within life and history, and the lines that can be drawn between the two. While there are irrefutable facts within the discipline of History, the study is based on speculation and debate. I feel that students must realize that there is not always a right or wrong, and that their ability to decide for themselves and think on their own is a crucial step to learning as well as growing. I revolve around fact and opinion within my lessons, and by allowing choices, students feel free to be themselves and express their opinions without worry or concern. I attempt to teach life lessons through the lessons of history, and equip students with the tools of life and decision.
